Paris with Kids: What We Wish We'd Known

Why Paris?
#

We’d been talking about Paris for years. When school schedules finally aligned, we booked before anyone could change their mind.

Getting There
#

We flew into CDG on a direct flight from the East Coast. Tip: book the train into the city ahead of time — the RER B is easy and cheap.

Where We Stayed
#

We rented an apartment in the Marais district. Having a kitchen saved us a fortune on breakfasts and made late evenings with tired kids much easier.

What the Kids Actually Liked
#

Turns out a 9-year-old will happily spend two hours in the Musée d’Orsay if you let her draw the sculptures in a sketchbook. The Eiffel Tower line was long but worth it — once.

What We’d Do Differently
#

  • Book the Louvre for early morning, not midday
  • Pack snacks. Always pack snacks.
  • The Vélib bike share is genuinely fun for a half-day loop along the Seine

Would We Go Back?
#

Without question.
